The important element of our mission is to support and inspire musicians, also the ones representing the youngest generation, students who have just started their adventure with music – just like us not so long ago! Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, together with the Complex of State Music Schools No. 1 in Warsaw, is therefore proud to invite you to an educational concert titled “NOWA MIODOWA. SINFONIA IUVENTUS”. The concert will be held on 23 October in the school’s new premises, in its new Concert Hall “Nowa Miodowa”.

Why “Nowa Miodowa”, if the school is now located at Rakowiecka Street? For decades of its existence, the institution has developed a strong bond with the name of the street in the Old Town – for representatives of the music community in Warsaw, there was only one “school at Miodowa Street”!

Sinfonia Iuventus is composed of successful young musicians with academic education. The concert’s soloists, although they have only just started their professional careers, already boast a number of outstanding achievements. On 23 October, we will join our forces and passions to present you with new energy, enthusiasm and joy of making music together.

The soloists will include graduates of this excellent school with impressive traditions – 18-year-old Krzysztof Wierciński, student of Professor Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just’s class of piano at the Zenon Brzewski State School of Music (2nd level), winner of awards and distinctions at numerous prestigious competitions, giving concerts in Poland and abroad, who will perform Frederic Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor. 16-year-old Augustas Vasiliauskas from Lithuania, currently studying at the Marian Sawa State School of Music (2nd level) in the class of Professor Paweł Gusnar and Alicja Wołyńczyk-Raniszewska, Ph.D, also has an impressive history of concerts and competitions. He plays alto and baritone saxophone in the Warsaw Saxophone Orchestra under the direction of Paweł Gusnar. He will present his exquisite skills in Pedro Iturralde’s daring Pequeña Czarda and in Eugene Bozzy’s Aria arranged by Alicja Wołyńczyk. One of the last masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the brilliant Clarinet Concerto in A major will be performed by Mateusz Sowa, musician of the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra. He graduated with honors from the State Music School (2nd level) in Częstochowa and completed a B.A. course at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, in the class of Professor Mirosław Pokrzywiński, He is currently a student of an M.A. course. He is a laureate of numerous awards and prizes at national and international competitions as a soloist and chamber musician, since 2021 he has been a scholarship holder of the National Centre for Culture “Young Poland”. One of Mateusz Sowa’s recent successes is winning the 3rd prize at the 13th Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza, which took place in September. The concert will be conducted by Marek Wroniszewski.

FREE ENTRANCE: guest passes are available at the school’s department of administration (Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6pm) from 11 October 2021. Limited number of guests.
