PREVIEW OF THE 2023/2024 ART SEASON

x

Starting on 10 September, Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra will begin its new, 16th artistic season at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio under the baton of Antoni Wit, an esteemed conductor of significant artistic output. This season is particularly important because it is connected with the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Polish History Museum, which will soon become the main venue for our concerts! Obviously you will also hear us in many other places; we encourage you – as always – to follow the news on our website and social media profiles.

The repertoire of the new season is promising to be extremely interesting. Along with Beethoven, Wagner, Sibelius, Elgar, Franck and Brahms, it will include works by Polish composers such as Noskowski, Szymanowski and Wajnberg. Also, some important jubilarians will appear – Piotr Moss, celebrating his 75th birthday and 55 years of artistic work, and Andrzej Panufnik on his 110th birthday anniversary. We will also be applauding Andrzej Jagodziński and his trio, Krzysztof Herdzin with an excellent pleiad of instrumentalists, and jazz trumpet master Gary Guthman. The soloists will include Hyuk Lee, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Hubert Salwarowski, Jakub Waszczeniuk, Anna Maria Staśkiewicz, and behind the conductor’s desk will stand the greatest maestros from various generations, including Antoni Wit, Kirill Karabits, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, George Tchitchinadze, Jerzy Salwarowski and Bassem Akiki.

There will be more musical attractions, to all of which you are most welcome!
