We would like to invite you to a solemn symphonic concert performed by the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, which will mark the 160th anniversary of the January Uprising.
This important event is a tribute to the heroic participants of the uprising who stood up to the Russian invaders, inspiring future generations to fight for independence. The concert will begin with an impressive Mazur from Stanisław Moniuszko’s opera Halka, an important work of national opera literature. Then we will hear Ignacy Jan Paderewski’s Piano Concerto in A minor performed by the talented pianist Jan Wachowski. After the interval, the Orchestra will present music to Roman Palester’s ballet Song of the Earth, in which the composer combined elements of folklore with his contemporary musical language.
