Sinfonia Iuventus received funding from the Composing Commissions Program 2022
We are pleased to announce that we received funding of 30 000.00 PLN in the “Composing Commissions” Program 2022 carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance, co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, for the world premiere of the Concert for flute, tenor saxophone and symphony orchestra “Archangels” by Adam Wesołowski.
The aim of our project is to create the first in the history of music Concert for flute, tenor saxophone and symphony orchestra. The piece will demonstrate new sound possibilities of solo instruments and the orchestra, not only through new ways of sound production (articulation), but also through the introduction of “angel chants ” performed at times by the instrumentalists simultaneously with the part on the instrument.
The world premiere will take place in December 3, 2022 at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio in Warsaw. The concert will be attended by the outstanding artists: the solo tenor saxophone part will be performed by Piotr Baron, the solo flute part – by Łukasz Długosz; they will be accompanied by the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra conducted by Marek Wroniszewski.
