Once again, Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra has the honour and pleasure of performing at one of the most prestigious musical events in Poland – The Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, during its jubilee 25th edition. Festival concerts will be held from 20 March to 2 April, while ours is scheduled for 22 March at the National Philharmonic. Join us to listen to a composition by the festival patron – van Beethoven’s monumental programme overture to Goethe’s drama Egmont, full of emotion and pathos, performed under the baton of Dawid Runtz, currently the first conductor of the Polish Royal Opera. The Hungarian trumpet virtuoso Gábor Boldoczki was the dedicatee and first performer of Krzysztof Penderecki’s Concertina per tromba e orchestra, and during the March performance he will recall Joseph Haydn’s impressive Trumpet Concerto in E flat major, to which Penderecki composed his own very interesting solo cadences in 1999; the work will be heard in this version. In the end of the concert Sinfonia Iuventus will performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No.36 in C-major KV 425.
