The phonographic record of Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra has just got enriched of another CD with Krzysztof Penderecki’s pieces. The composer has been in the center of the orchestra’s interest since November 2013 when he assumed honorary artistic patronage over the Orchestra. Sinfonia Iuventus has already recorded the complete of symphonies (2010–2012) and albums with solo concerts (2014–2018) under the baton of the composer himself. Selected recordings in the series have been honoured, including the International Classical Music Award (2014 and 2016).

The newest recording featuring Concerto doppio per violino, viola ed orchestra (2012), Concerto per viola (chitarra) ed orchestra (1983) arranged for guitar by Piotra Przedbory and Concerto grosso no. 2 per 5 clarinetti ed orchestra (2004) is a continuation of the cycle of maestro’s concerts. The recording was featured by great soloists: Bartłomiej Nizioł (violin) and Katarzyna Budnik (in Concerto doppio), Piotr Przedbora – the author of the newest arrangement of famous Concerto per viola, and – in the unique Concerto grosso no. 2 – five clarinet players Arkadiusz Adamski, Andrzej Ciepliński, Bartłomiej Dobrowolski, Agata Piątek i Tomasz Żymła. The pieces were recorded under the baton of Krzysztof Penderecki and Maciej Tworek and were produced by DUX – just as in case of other recordings of this series – thanks to the resources of Ministery of Culture and National Heritage within the program “Muzyczny Ślad” ran by Insytut Muzyki i Tańca. [Piotr Maculewicz]
