On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage Professor Piotr Gliński sent a letter, the content of which is presented below.

Dear Mr Director,

please, accept my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation due to the jubilee of the 15th anniversary of the Jerzy Semkow  Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra.

“Youth Orchestra”, as this unique ensemble is often called, brings together the most talented graduates of the Polish music academies. The idea of its originator and patron was to take care of the most talented young musicians and create an institution that will enable them to polish further their talent and the possibility of a professional debut. It happened so, because these 15 years of very active work meant that Sinfonia Iuventus is an orchestra that successfully aspires to the role of the ambassador of the Polish musical culture. The fruit of its activity, apart from numerous excellent concerts and recordings, is a long list of artist-musicians who left the Orchestra’s stands to start an even more mature professional activity in the Polish symphony and opera ensembles.

On this particularly solemn day, I would like to congratulate you, young musicians and all colleagues, as well as wishes for outstanding artistic achievements and the next great years full of successes.

Yours faithfully
Piotr Gliński
