Symphonic Concert in Warsaw Philharmonic
On Saturday, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw will host a concert by the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra conducted by Ana María Patiño-Osorio – one of the most outstanding young conductors. She gained recognition after her remarkable success at the prestigious Malko Competition in Copenhagen, where she received second prize, the audience prize, and a special jury distinction. Her interpretations are widely praised for their maturity, musical depth, and exceptional refinement of sound.
The evening will also feature young Polish instrumentalists: Wojciech Niedziółka, Antoni Wrona, and Mateusz Dubiel, who are already shaping the direction of contemporary classical performance and successfully representing Polish culture on the international stage.
The programme presents a broad spectrum of symphonic music. It opens with György Ligeti’s Concert Românesc, a work infused with folk-inspired colour and rhythmic vitality. The central piece is Ludwig van Beethoven’s Triple Concerto in C major, Op. 56, a unique example of classical dialogue between three soloists and orchestra. The concert concludes with Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World”, one of the most iconic Romantic symphonies, blending European symphonic tradition with musical influences inspired by America.
