Preparations for the 80th Anniversary Concert of the Warmia–Mazury Philharmonic in Olsztyn
Tomorrow our musicians depart for Olsztyn, where they will spend the next few days in intensive rehearsals ahead of Saturday’s performance.
Już jutro nasi muzycy wyjeżdżają do Olsztyna, gdzie przez najbliższe dni będą intensywnie pracować nad przygotowaniem sobotniego występu.
During the concert, the monumental Symphony No. 2 in C minor “Resurrection” by Gustav Mahler will be performed. The stage of the Urania Sports and Entertainment Arena will host an impressive assembly of performers: orchestras, soloists and numerous choirs.
The solo parts will be performed by Magdalena Stefaniak (soprano) and Ewa Marciniec (mezzo-soprano). The concert will feature the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra named after Jerzy Semkow, the Warmia–Mazury Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, as well as combined choirs from Warsaw, Łódź and Olsztyn.
The performance will be conducted by Alexandr Iradyan, Artistic Director of the Warmia–Mazury Philharmonic. We last worked with the conductor exactly a year ago, when he led our orchestra during a concert at the Polish Radio Concert Studio.
We encourage you to follow our social media channels – in the coming days we will be sharing rehearsal footage, behind-the-scenes moments and backstage insights from the preparations for this extraordinary concert.
