EFNYO General Assembly and Annual Conference
The EFNYO General Assembly and Annual Conference took place in Lisbon on 19–21 March 2026.
During the meeting, a new Board was appointed, current matters related to upcoming activities were discussed, and strategic directions for the Federation’s work in the coming year, as well as budgetary issues, were addressed. The agenda also included the admission of new member orchestras and further strengthening of international cooperation.
The European Federation of National Youth Orchestras (EFNYO), founded in 1994, is a network bringing together leading national youth orchestras across Europe. Its mission is to support collaboration, exchange programmes, and the professional development of young orchestral musicians throughout Europe.
The meeting in Lisbon gathered directors, managers and representatives of, among others:

• Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa (Portugal)

Currently, EFNYO comprises 36 member organisations and serves as a platform for the exchange of expertise in music education, performance, audience development, international mobility, and intercultural dialogue among Europe’s leading youth orchestras.
Thanks to its unique position at the intersection of higher music education and the professional music world, the Federation plays a significant role in preparing future generations of artists, sharing responsibility for their development and skills.
The meeting was chaired by EFNYO President Ewout van Dingstee (Nationale Jeugdorkesten Nederland). We would like to thank the hosts of this year’s conference, Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa, for their hospitality!
