We've just accomplished the first artistic project under the Polish Presidency of the EU Council: concerts with the participation of young European talents
On 8 and 9 April, two concerts were held as part of an artistic project accompanying the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra and the Polish National Youth Choir met on one stage. The evening was led by conductor Susanna Mälkki. The programme included a monumental symphonic work – Symphony No. 2 in C minor “Resurrection” by Gustav Mahler. The solo parts were performed by soprano Heidi Stober and mezzo-soprano Małgorzata Walewska.
The event was organised by the National Centre for Culture, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music and the Ludwig van Beethoven Association.
This project was a unique meeting of young musicians, art and the European community – in the spirit of unity, cooperation and cultural heritage.
