Interludium Symphonic concert
On October 17, 2026, we invite you to the Concert Hall of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice for INTERLUDIUM, a concert that serves as a bridge between editions of the International Festival of Young Laureates of Music Competitions — connecting last year’s edition with the next one, scheduled for October 2027.
The October concert by the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus named after Jerzy Semkow in Katowice has become a tradition. For many years, the ensemble has performed as part of the International Festival of Young Laureates of Music Competitions, presenting works by the masters of symphonic music and appearing alongside Poland’s most distinguished artists.
This year’s soloist, performing on a date that symbolically coincides with the anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s death, will be Yehuda Prokopowicz, a semifinalist of last year’s 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. Among the distinctions he received at the competition was the Polish Radio Special Prize for the best performances of mazurkas.
Wojciech Rodek, the current director of Sinfonia Iuventus, will take the podium as conductor.
