We would like to announce that the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus accepts applications for the competition for an Assistant Conductor.

Objective of the competition

The competition is to select a conductor who will be employed on the basis of an employment contract.

The assistant conductor will take part in all artistic projects of POSI, including concerts, recordings, and workshops. Therefore, the Employer shall require from the employed person permanent presence, availability, and involvement in the orchestra’s activities, particularly participation in all rehearsals, concerts, recording sessions, as well as conducting orchestra rehearsals in sections and tutti.

The assistant conductor shall receive monthly remuneration.
During the artistic season, the assistant conductor shall conduct one paid concert.

The course of the competition

The competition consists of two stages:

Stage I – the jury shall select candidates based on the received documents
(biography, covering letter)
Stage II – selected candidates are invited to conduct rehearsals with the orchestra

Persons qualified for stage II of the competition shall receive written invitations to the provided e-mail addresses by 9 June 2017 at the latest.

The anticipated dates for stage II orchestra rehearsals in Warsaw are: 20, 21, and 22 June 2017.

Interested persons are asked to submit their artistic biographies and covering letters in the Secretary’s Office of the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus – Pałac Kultury i Nauki, 7th floor, room 704, via post to: Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus, pl. Defilad 1, room 701, 00-901 Warsaw, or via electronic mail to: sekretariat@sinfoniaiuventus.pl by 1 June 2017 at the latest.
