Award for Sinfonia Iuventus musicians in the 11th edition of FCUM competition.

We are pleased to announce great news concerning the 11th National Wind Instrument Ensemble Competition: members of the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus – Małgorzata Jończyk and Konrad Mrozek – are among the prize winners.

Between 10 and 12 February, the Chair of Wind Instruments at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music organised the 11th edition of the National Wind Instrument Ensemble Competition.

It was intended for musicians born after 1 February 1987 and covered the following categories: reed trio, wood quintet, brass quintet, and saxophone quartet.

The jury debated in the following composition:
Chairman: Prof. Tomasz Miczka – Academy of Music in Katowice (oboe)
Members: Prof. Andrzej Łęgowski – Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (flute), Prof. Andrzej Godek – Academy of Music in Krakow (clarinet), Prof. Czesław Klonowski – Academy of Music in Wrocław (bassoon), Prof. FCUM Paweł Gusnar – Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (saxophone), Asst Prof. Marek Medyński, DA – Academy of Music in Łódź (horn), Sr Lecturer Tadeusz Kassak – Academy of Music in Gdańsk (trombone).

In the category of reed trios, the first award went to Małgorzata Jończyk (clarinet), Jakub Jackowski (oboe), and Konrad Mrozek (bassoon).
