“(…) Festival of Polish Music in Krakow is an event where organisers present something more than well-known pieces adored by audiences. They also try to please listeners with unfamiliar compositions. This year, one of the leading figures of the Festival was Prince Józef Michał Ksawery Poniatowski – composer and operatic singer from the first half of the 19th century. On 9 July, it was a concert version of his opera in three acts Don Desiderio that was performed. (…) The accompanying Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus, led by Krzysztof Słowiński, presented its whole youthful potential, both in  the positive and negative meaning of the phrase – they played with great enthusiasm, however too loud.

It was an interesting idea to use a big metal tub and glass bottles as percussion instruments which were emptied by the drummers. (…)”
