9 April 2016 – The Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio

Concert held as part of the 20th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival

“(…) During the long-announced concert of Sinfonia Iuventus, being one of the first performances of the orchestra after organisational changes, the music of the Titans, namely Beethoven and Brahms, came off monumental. The task was far from easy as both works by Beethoven, coming from his early period, are modest and lack dynamics (which makes them clearly similar to the subtlety of Mozart). Especially that these pieces use only a small number of brass instruments, which provide power…I was much more impressed by Brahms, as I like it loud! Marcin Niesiołowski, a conductor I am perfectly familiar with, led the young people with skill, although I have probably heard two mistakes. So, congratulations! (…)”
