BEETHOVEN AND A VIOLIN

28th May 2016 we kindly invite everyone for the next symphony concert of Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus at the Concert Studio of the Polish Radio of W. Lutoslawski in Warsaw. The team will be conducted by the artistic director of the Orchestra – Przemyslaw Fiugajski. The soloist – is an outstanding Polish violinist of the younger generation Anna Maria Staskiewicz, laureate of many violin competitions, including III prize at the XIII Henryk Wieniawski International Competition in Poznan in 2006.

The artist shall perform the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 by Ludwig van Beethoven. This composition, in addition to the Violin Concerto in D major by Johannes Brahms, Violin Concerto in D major by Petr Tchaikovsky, and Violin Concerto in E minor by Felix Mendelssohn, is one of the classics of the genre, and is one of the most frequently performed violin concertos in the history of music.

Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus concert program will fulfil other great work of Ludwig van Beethoven – VIII Symphony F major, op. 93. This composition created in 1812 Beethoven named "my little symphony in F major" in order to distinguish it from an extensive VI Symphony. When his pupil Carl Czerny asked him about the reasons why the Eighth is less popular than the Seventh, Beethoven had to answer: "because the Eighth is a lot better".
