15.05.2016; 14.00h – Warsaw Philharmonic

For children aged 7 to 12

The symphony orchestra can be compared to one great musical organism. Each of the instruments is a vital part of that organism, and each has its own unique function. The conductor is responsible for the proper functioning of the organism as a whole, and can set it in motion or bring it to rest. Sometimes, following the composer’s ideas, the conductor makes the orchestra sound as if it were running or even flying through the lands of music. At other times, the orchestra is taken on a leisurely stroll or made to leap along. By bringing together in one programme pieces in different tempi and with distinct rhythms, we aim to attract the young listeners’ attention to those elements of music that decide about its very character. This, we hope, will result in a more conscious way of listening, but also increase the pleasure of participating in our concert. /www.filharmonianarodow.pl/
